WARREN SCIBBERAS JOINS EXPANDED MANNPOWER MOTORSPORT LINE-UP
Warren Scibberas will make his Vertu MINI CHALLENGE Trophy debut at Silverstone after signing up to contest the event with Mannpower Motorsport.
The 34-year-old will partner Mannpower regular Paul Manning for the third and final meeting in support of the British Touring Car Championship, which will be the highest profile race weekend to date for the Maltese racer.
Scibberas previously tested with the Mannpower team back in 2019 as he evaluated a move to compete in the UK, and has since gone on to compete in a range of different series on British soil, including both Snetterton Saloons and the British Endurance Championship.
The latter was the scene of his last race in the UK back in March 2023, where he secured a fourth place finish in class alongside Max Hart in a Cupra TCR.
Whilst the Silverstone outing is currently a one-off, Scibberas is keen to use it as a springboard towards a full-season of competition in 2025.
“I’m delighted to be joining the Mannpower Motorsport team and to be racing in the Vertu MINI CHALLENGE Trophy,” he said. “This is the start of a new journey for me with a new team, and it marks the start of an exciting new chapter for me full of fresh challenges.
“My aim is to try and push the limits of performance across the weekend and work to achieve the goals that the team and I set for the three races, whilst also enjoying the thrill of the competition.”
Joint team managers James Manning and Adam Hatfield were quick to welcome Scibberas into the expanded line-up.
“We are really pleased to have a second car out for Silverstone,” they said. “We had Warren come over to test for us in a MINI back in 2019 to give him his first taste of UK motorsport and to have him racing for us at last is great.
“We look forward to supporting him for the weekend and seeing how he gets on!”
