CJ MORGAN SECURES FULL-TIME COOPER SWITCH
CJ Morgan will make a full-time move into the Vertu MINI CHALLENGE Trophy in 2025 on the back of a successful three-round stint in the Cooper class last season.
The teenager joined the grid for the first time ahead of the Croft MINI Festival back in the autumn, making the step up with Chandler Motorsport having previously raced for the team in both the Junior Saloon Car Championship and Track Action.
Despite going up against drivers who had been in action for half a season, and in tricky weather conditions, Morgan was able to bring home a top ten finish from his debut weekend in the highly-competitive class.
Another top ten finish would follow during the final BTCC support event for the Cooper field at Silverstone, with Morgan again showing encouraging pace in the Brands Hatch season finale.
Having achieved his goals on track during the final stages of last season, Morgan now returns to the grid looking to help Chandler Motorsport build on its impressive record since joining the MINI CHALLENGE family – having snared the Rookie Cup title for the last two seasons.
“I’m really excited to be entering my first full season in the MINI CHALLENGE Trophy this year, especially alongside Chandler Motorsport,” he said.
“We showed some promising pace in the three rounds we did last season, and I’m confident that we can go into 2025 looking to challenge for some silverware and battle for honours.
“The fact I’ve been with the team for three years means we know how each other works and I know we have what it takes to fight at the front. I can’t wait to get going!”
