JOSH WILBY LOOKS TO MAINTAIN POINTS LEAD
Josh Wilby will seek to maintain his lead in the Vertu MINI CHALLENGE Trophy when the series heads for Thruxton this weekend for the third meeting of the season.
The Team Avago driver bagged his second win of the campaign last time out at Brands Hatch to establish a ten point lead in the championship standings.
Wilby heads for the fastest circuit on the calendar looking to build on his impressive run of form so far this season, which has seen him bag four podium finishes from the first six races of the campaign.
“It feels amazing to be leading the championship standings and I feel I’ve improved a lot since last year,” he said. “Brands Hatch was the best weekend we’ve had so far and it’s all down to the team and the fantastic work they have done.
“We knew from pre-season testing that we would be taking a big step forwards compared to last year, and we are working really well together as a team. My confidence is at an all-time high and I think it shows in the results.
“We’ve got improvement to the car to come for Thruxton and I’m looking forward to getting back out on track.”
